Dear Dr. Alan,
Hi, I am Shih-yin Lai and come from Taiwan government, WRA MOEA. I am appreciated for your arrangement about Public- Private Partnerships since 13th Sept. We stayed Vancouver for 60 days to study and learn at UBC. I consider the opportunity to be a special treat because I have been interested in P3s, English and looking forward to studying overseas for a Ph.D. since I was a collegiate student.
Before the last lesson, I need some materials to write our report. For example:
The Publications of Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships:CASE STUDIES ABOUT SMALL HYDRO OR WATER SECTOR
Volume 1: Benefits of Water Service Public-Private PartnershipsThis document looks at the various arrangements that draw on private sector financial capacity and areas of expertise in delivering water and wastewater services. It reviews the advantages with specific P3 models and examines the inherent characteristics that make them attractive choices for many. It is a companion document to the "Overview of Successful Public-Private Partnerships in the Water Sector" (see below). Published: 3/2002
Overview of Successful Public-Private Partnerships in the Water SectorKey facts, highlights, results and descriptions of water/wastewater treatment projects including Dartmouth, Hamilton-Wentworth, Moncton, Edmonton, Haldimand-Norfolk, Milwaukee, Buffalo and Indianapolis. This overview, reviewed by Pricewaterhouse Coopers, provides compelling evidence to the success of private sector finance and innovation in Canada water and wastewater infrastructure. Published: 11/2000
Above all, I think some cases will be helpful in these publications. Could you select 3-4 cases or provide some papers for me. By the way, if you could order for me in Members’ Price will be better.
Finally, I am very glad that you make more efforts to prepare and arrange the P3s course since 13th Sept. Thank a lot. May God bless you and enjoy in doing research and teaching.
Sincerely yours,
Searn, Shih-yin Lai
