Dear Anji Smith, cheekymonkez@yahoo.ca
2004/10/31
Hi, how are you doing? Did you remember me? I am Shih-yin Lai. I am very glad to meet with you on the seabus in Vancouver at this morning. (10/31/2004) I came from Taiwan, and stayed Richmond for 60 days to study and learn at UBC about Public- Private Partnerships since 9th Sept. in Canada. Then, I will leave for San Francisco on November 11th and come back to Taiwan on November 16th. In the past days, I had been in Seattle, Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, New York and Toronto. I consider the opportunity to be a special treat because I have been interested in English and looking forward to studying overseas for a Ph.D. since I was a collegiate student.
From your personal website: http://www.anjismithphotography.com, which I read the sentence "Photography is like music. You can transcend the cultural borders." It's very interesting. I love it very much. On my opinion, I do believe that "Photography is more than like philosophy. You could know what a true life is”. Don't you think so?
By the way, Do you know what is 《 Knowing each other seems two clouds meet silently. 》? The elegant poem was a famous poet and the writer was a Taiwanese. I think the poem could explain when two people recognize each other and what happen. Maybe there is nothing or you could guess.
As I know, you are good at taking picture. Share some pictures with you on my trip. (Please to see attached files) Additionally, I recommend the "Good Music and Good Slights"--A website "Canadian Banff National Park" is http://128.121.245.20/pathways/pathways_net.swf. What a beautiful place! Share with you and you could try to find something from there. Have a nice time and enjoy yourself. Well, it seems like many interesting things to talk each other as we could. Let us make a date.
Date: 11/1/2004(Monday)
Time: 4:00 PM
Place: Waterfront Station
Sincerely yours,
Searn, Shih-yin Lai
